Ecuador is officially the Republic of Ecuador. It is a country in South America.
The population of Ecuador consists of 16 million people.
Most of the people are Mestizo ethnicity (71.9%). The other small groups are Montubio (7.4%), AmerIndian (7%), Afroecuadorian (4.3%), white (6.1%), mulatto (1.9%), black (1%) and other religions (0.4%).
In terms of religions, most people are part of the Roman Catholic faith (74%). Other groups include Evangelical (10.4%), Jehovah’s Witness (1.2%), atheist (7.9%), agnostic (0.1%). The remaining 6.4% consisting of Jewish, Spiritualist, Muslim, Hindu, and more.
Spanish (93%) is the official language of Ecuador. Also, people speak Quecha (4.1%) and other foreign languages (0.7%) here.

The Hg ID is specific to this site and is used to protect the identities of those who take part in Genographic research. Birth Country, Mother's Birth Country, and Maternal Grandmother's Birth Country have been normalized from DAR database fields. The Maternal Origin is determined based on the three previous fields.
