Cameroon is officially the Republic of Cameroon. It is a central African country on the west coastline of Africa. Its diverse geography includes coast, desert, mountains, rain forest, and savanna.

Modern Times

The population of Cameroon is 24 million people. Cameroon Highlanders are the dominating ethnicity in Cameroon (31%) and others are Equatorial antu (19%), Kirdi (11%), Fulani (10%), other African (13%), Northwestern Bantu (8%), Eastern Nigritic (7%), and less than 1% being non-African.

English and African are the two official languages of Cameroon, with 24 other major African language groups being spoken in the country as well.

Roman Catholic is the most prevalent religion and forms 38.4% of the population. Other religions include Protestant (26.3%), Muslims (20.9%), other Christian (4.5%), none (3.2%), and animist and other religions making up the total population (6.6%).
