Modern Times

The population of the country of Bulgaria is estimated to be at 7 million people. The country has a wide variety of ethnic groups including Bulgarians (76.9%), Turkish (8%), Romani people (4.4%), unknown (10%), and the remaining 7% as other.

The dominant religion is Eastern Orthodox (59.4%). Muslims constitute 7.8% of the religion.

Bulgarian is the official language of Bulgaria. It is the first language of approximately 76.8% of the population. Turkish (8.2%) is among the spoken languages, as well as Romani (3.8%), unspecified languages (10.5%), and the remaining as other (0.7%).
