Haplogroup K1c1f is a branch on the maternal tree of humanity. Its age has not been determined, but we know that it is young based on its parent's age of 3,300 and 7,200 years (Behar et al., 2012b).
K1c1f samples have appeared in several published research papers. The sample in Raule et al., 2014 comes from Finland while the one in Coble et al., 2004 comes from an American with European origins in the United States. The sample in Behar et al., 2012b does not have demographic information, but the one from direct citizen science publication comes from a Canadian with Slovakian ancestry (Greenspan et al., 2006 – 2016).
From Geno 2 data, there are samples have origins in Finland and Poland as well as ones from people in the United States with European origins.
Together, current information shows that this branch is Northwestern and Eastern European.

mtDNA Haplogroup K1c1f Data Sources
GenBank is a database of genetic sequence data. It is run by the United States National Institute of Health. It serves as the main repository for mtDNA full sequence profiles. Samples come both from published academic literature and donations from genetic genealogy community members. In addition to GenBank samples, listings below may include other samples published but not submitted to GenBank such as those from the HapMap project.
Note: GenBank results currently use Phylotree build 16. I am working on changing resuts over to build 17.

The Hg ID is specific to this site and is used to protect the identities of those who take part in Genographic research. Birth Country, Mother's Birth Country, and Maternal Grandmother's Birth Country have been normalized from DAR database fields. The Maternal Origin is determined based on the three previous fields.
