mtDNA Haplogroup H6a1b2 Data Sources

GenBank Samples

GenBank is a database of genetic sequence data. It is run by the United States National Institute of Health. It serves as the main repository for mtDNA full sequence profiles. Samples come both from published academic literature and donations from genetic genealogy community members. In addition to GenBank samples, listings below may include other samples published but not submitted to GenBank such as those from the HapMap project.

Note: GenBank results currently use Phylotree build 16. I am working on changing results over to build 17.

I am H6a1b2. I am on 23andME.com and Ancestry.com. I am from everywhere. My mother O blood type RH negative. ( O- ) My mother was O- my father A+. My information is available on both sites. There is a mystery of my mother’s paternal ancestry. I would like to prove or disprove that we are descended off the genealogical record from the British Royal family by a Prince of Wales in the 1800’s, or a male royal that would have been a Prince of Wales but was unable to be for certain reasons, true or untrue. Is that possible thru DNA and/or haplogroup to find out the truth? I know it should mean nothing to anyone but us, but there might be a surprise even for the public. There are some interesting theories about why it was kept so hush-hush.
