8500 BCE Folsom tools were created.
5500 BCE Beginning of the Oshara Tradition.
1600 BCE Beginning of Mississippian Culture.
1000 BCE Beginning of the Adena Culture.
200 BCE End of the Adena Culture.
500 CE Cahokia was settled.
1000 CE The Acoma Pueblo and Taos Pueblo in New Mexico are the oldest continuously occupied communities in the US.
1100 CE The Oraibi village was founded in Arizona.
1492 CE Christopher Columbus landed on Puerto Rico, naming it San Juan Bautista in honor of Saint John the Baptist.
