Cambridge Reference Sequence (Revised)

The revised Cambridge Reference Sequence is based on the first mitochondrial genome to be tested. The first version was published in 1981. A revision to fix errors was published in 1999. Testing was done with the placenta of an infant. The rCRS belongs to the rare H2a2a1 haplogroup.

It has since been replaced with the RSRS (Reconstructed Sapiens Reference Sequence).
