Atlantic Modal Haplotype (AMH)

The Atlantic Modal Haplotype is a Y-chromosome DNA haplotype based on six Y-STR markers. Using those six markers it is the highest frequency haplotype in Western Europe. We now know that most men with this haplotype are haplogroup R1b. They may though belong to one of several branches under R1b.
